I Love You

Love – A Great Point of View

I am putting arrangements to more of my songs. This song has snuck in and out of my focus for 5 years, maybe the song has finally found me, I am not sure yet… but I never get sick of working on it, that is a good sign.

Here is a first attempt at Love a Great Point of View

There’s a cup on the counter that proves you were here
A gentle reminder of what once was was clear
Should it be in the sink or with my souvenirs?

The bed is a wreck where you once slept
The love that we shared there it made such a mess
The sheets are reminders of something we kept

I’ve got this feeling that you won’t be back
Is this a pain in my chest or a heart attack
As it stabs my truth or or was that my back

Chorus:
But what I collect now are lines on my face
The gray in my hair it is no disgrace
Its one more reminder of these past few years
Should I wash these sheets or put them with my souvenirs?

There’s a cheap little magnet that I bought in Perth
It pays rent in the kitchen for all that it’s worth
It lights up a spot for all that come here
But it earns its keep among my souvenirs

There’s a folder on my desktop from Portland I think
It’s real swell reminder if I want to wink
At the time spent with you that took all these years
It stands in the my life amoung my souvenirs

But what I collect now are lines on my face
The gray in my hair it is no disgrace
Its one more reminder of these last few years
Should I wash these sheets or put them with my souvenirs?

Withered Philosophy

It’s a withered philosophy – It’s all to be judged
It scampers like mice in the field – Escaping from love

So sweet in your mouth left to dry – Like sugar in wine
It lingers behind eyes to cry – Like grapes on the vine

I’ll follow you where I would lead – You’ll lead with reins
You’ll cut it if I’ll do the bleeding – You’ll stand in the rain
I’ll follow you where I am leading – I’ll live in your pain
And we’ll go just like a thief in the night – and it cuts like a crime
Just like a crime

Insanity breeds the illusion – that nothing is real
Philosphies come with conclusions – there’s nothing to feel

And if your not your thoughts – then nothing is you
And all that you’ve bought and you’ve sold is now coming true

My Father Red Cline

I have had a cold for three days and my eyes have not stopped crying… all by themselves…. just crying… it seems it is ominous of a time in my near future….

This song will have to be reworked but it is the way all the parts and mistakes came together in just thirty minutes…

If I Could Move a Mountain

life is changing…
the world is changing…
so many beginnings
so many endings…
all crashing into one another…

“What the government needs is washing machine
’cause its tail is stuck in a dead magazine
Still I’m not the one to say the whole thing’s a sham

But…
If I could move a mountain I’d move you here
I’d bat my eyes and make you appear
It I could move a mountain I’d move you here”

About “Signed with Love”

I sign most of my correspondences with some derivation of “Love and Light”. Recently someone said she thought it diminished the effect since it doesn’t seem so special after a while.

My reply was this: I agree and disagree. Yes perhaps it does take some of the special off of the word love. But in my mind the presence of love isn’t special, it is a prerequisite, it should always be there, my salutation is just a reminder that in my world, it is ALWAYS there.

I may forget and I may revert to my old thinking that love is for the special people in my life, but when I see my own salutation, I am reminded, love should be the norm for everyone, not just for special people!

Right to Heal

For a very dear friend of mine!

We all have a right to heal. We can heal. We will heal if we allow ourselves.

There are too many professionals that tell us we won’t heal. Or that our wounds will take years to heal.

It may take you hears to let go, it may take you years to realize and allow the healing to begin. But we all have th right to heal.

Valid healing begins with the belief that we can heal. Not permission from a professional or a group to heal.

Healing is your right. Do what ever you need, but heal.

Right to Heal

Right to Heal

Right to Heal

Defending your right to be wounded
A fortress erected in pain
Has captured your past in a dungeon
Where torture’s still done in your name

Who has erected this castle,
The towers the dungeon and gate?
It was she who authored your story
That controls the draw bridge of fate.

So why is our life such a riddle?
Why does it take us so long
It’s the only journye worth taking
So how could our life turn out wrong?

How do you dismantle a castle
That harbors both hero and foe
It’s the holy grail of your journey
And only a wizard would know

That the mortar and brick are prison
To keeps out the love that is real
But the flag flying over your castle
Must be lowered before you can heal
